There was speculation that the two were maybe trying to work things out after they were spotted at Blue Ribbon restaurant in NYC last Friday.
Sources told People they shared a "friendly meal" at Blue Ribbon restaurant in New York.
"They were smiling and laughing the whole time," the source says.
But apparently “friendly” is as far as things are going with them these days. "They just wanted to connect and have a friendly chat," the source said. "They just wanted to sit down together. The tone was light and fun despite the untruths that the media is working up.
They aren't reconciling. This was just two people who were married being civil and friendly."
I still don’t get how a marriage could fall apart so amicably, but another insider told E! Online the split really was drama-free.
"Remember, their breakup wasn't dramatic, so it's not like it's weird for them to remain close. Both are very career driven, it just wasn't working out,” said the source. "[Scarlett] needs someone who will make her a priority."
Sounds like they both just decided to make their careers their priority, rather than their marriage. Sad, but it’s becoming a trend! Notice how the happily married couples in Hollywood aren’t working as much?!
