Scarlett Johansson made it sound like she was really close with Barack Obama by telling reporters she was engaged to him a couple months ago. She also claims to have a personal relationship with him via email.
Scarlett told Politico, "You'd imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly traveling and constantly 'on' - how can he return these personal emails? But he does, and in his off-time I know he also calls people who have donated the minimum to thank them."
But now Barack is downplaying his connection with Scarlett, saying he
doesn't even have her address. He says she sent one email to his assistant, and he replied by saying, "Thank you Scarlett for doing what you do."
We're not sure what that even means, but that definitely doesn't constitute a relationship by any means. Plus, Obama is probably smart to not get so involved in the Hollywood game. He's already got a lot of celebrity votes, so he can focus on the rest of the country.
