Sting And Trudie Defend Rainforest Charity

Sting
Sting and his wife Trudie are defending a charity of theirs that has been accused of hoarding money during a 2006 concert. There are reports that of all the funds raised at the Carnegie Hall event to benefit the rainforest, only 41 percent actually went to saving the trees. But Trudie is hitting back, saying the reports are misleading. She says, "The Rainforest Foundation is celebrating its 20th year. We wouldn't still be in business or have given out millions of dollars over the years if we'd spent everything we made immediately after it came in." Ya gotta give them credit for putting 20 years into the charity. We hope for their sake that those reports aren't true, because that would be a lawsuit waiting to happen! The next Rainforest Concert will be in New York this month, headlining Billy Joel and James Taylor. No doubt this event will be watched extremely closely!
