5 Things You Didn\'t Know About Jason Aldean
It’s the “Big Green Tractor” in the room…

Jason Aldean has been making headlines since he was caught “canoodling” with former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr, a.k.a not his wife... But, rather than the fact that he has a hard time keeping his hands to home, you may not know much about this guitar twangin’ stud.

Here are five things you didn’t know about Jason Aldean….

Kelly Clarkson Duet: While you know the song, you may not know the man behind it…The other voice in Kelly Clarkson radio hit “Don’t You Wanna Stay” is, in fact, Jason Aldean. The duo was recently enlisted to perform the track at the 2012 CMA Awards, scheduled for November 1st.

Tupac Fan: One thing that you may never have expected to be on the dirt road loving, cowboy hat wearing star’s iPod playlist is the late East Harlem rapper. A self-proclaimed lover of all music - from Southern rock to blues - in his youth, Aldean went through a rap phase with his cousin, blasting Tupac Shakur in their pickup truck.

High School Sweethearts: In true small town form, Aldean’s wife, Jessica Ussery, was the singer-songwriter’s high school sweetheart. The couple married in August of 2001 and shares two children, Keely and Kendyl together. The backstory makes the whole cheating scandal all the more tragic.

Nearly Abandoned Music: After moving to Nashville in 1998 on a whim and having several recording deals fall through, Aldean was on the verge to leaving the music business for good. To make matters worse, his songwriting contract with Warner-Chapell Publishing was about to expire. However, in 2005, indie label Broken Bow Records picked him up and produced his debut album Jason Aldean. The rest… Was history.

Socially Awkward: While he seems to do quite well on stage and – apparently – in the bar, it’s a little known fact that Jason hates talking on the phone. In fact, he will often miss calls on purpose. Better get over that one quick, Jason, so you can call your wife to beg for forgiveness!
