Saturday Night Live

Justin Bieber, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Natalie Portman, Michael Bolton, Jon Hamm, Will Ferrell… yeah it was pretty epic.

Saturday Night Live aired their 100th digital short on the May 12th episode, and they pulled out all the stops for this little musical number.
Cue the second Facebook campaign! After thousands of fans lobbied to get Betty White to host Saturday Night Live, their wishes finally came true this past weekend when the 88-year-old became one of the most iconic hosts SNL has ever had.

According to Nielsen, NBC earned its highest ratings in 18 months the night White hosted. Now fans are banding together to campaign for White to be next year’s Oscar host. Over 11,000 fans have joined the “Getting Betty White to Host the Academy Awards” fanpage so far.

We’re not sure about this, but we do admit that Betty was pretty hysterical on SNL this weekend. Check her acting chops out in this skit below:

Jay-Z is coming to Saturday Night Live! He’s just been confirmed as the musical guest for the weekend of May 8th, which is also when Betty White is hosting.

According to multiple sources, both will appear on the Mother's Day episode, which will feature appearances by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.

Sounds like a show not to miss! Jay will also be headlining Coachella tonight! In related news, Jay-Z is also involved in a lawsuit with Red Sox player David Ortiz. He’s suing for $5 million against the slugger, claiming he named his new Dominican Republic Forty-Forty is too similar to his pwn nightclub chain 40/40.

"David Ortiz is fully aware of Plaintiff's Manhattan 40/40 club, since he had been a patron there on several occasions before he opened his Infringing Forty/Forty club," the lawsuit states.

Seems a bit ridiculous if you ask us! We’re sure the clientele in the NYC and Vegas clubs owned by Jay-Z is a little different than a club in the Dominican Republic.
We’ve been hearing the rumors, but it’s finally true! The adorable Betty White will be hosting Saturday Night Live on Mat 8th, which is Mother’s Day weekend.

According to NBC New York, White will reunite with six former SNL cast members, most of whom are moms as well: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels says Betty has her Facebook fan page to thank for the gig, saying it "took on a groundswell. [White as the host] isn't something we would have said no to, [but the campaign] validated that, 'Oh, that'd be fun' … It was the outpouring of affection from fans, and we feel the same way."

As for Betty, she’s even been offered a hosting spot in the past! "Years ago, I turned it down three times," White says. "It's so New York, and I'm not New York at all. "But my agent said he'd divorce me if I didn't do it, and I love my agent."

Now that she’s been chosen, Betty couldn’t be more excited. She says, "It's lovely, and at my age it's certainly unexpected. I’ve got so much energy, it's ridiculous. I love working. My schedule is a feverish one, and I'm used to that."

So why Mother’s Day if Betty isn’t technically a mother? "She's the mother of us all in comedy,” Lorne explains.

We can’t wait!
This month of Saturday Night Live is destined to be a good one. Kicking things off this coming Saturday will be Taylor Swift, who will act as both the host and the musical guest on the show. We’re hoping for a Kanye cameo, or at least a skit dedicated to the infamous stage invasion from the VMAs.

Next up on the November roster is Mad Men’s gorgeous January Jones, who will host the show on the 14th.

Black Eyed Peas are the musical guest for that night. And then to wrap things up, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host the late-night show on November 21st, with Dave Matthews Band as the musical guest. This will be DMB’s fifth time appearing on SNL.

Not a bad lineup! Be sure to set your DVRs for the next three Saturdays!
Megan Fox will be kicking off the 35th season of SNL! She was chosen to host the first show of the season, which we know will equal great ratings for them!

An insider tells Life & Style that Megan is really excited about the gig, saying, “Megan is psyched to have gotten this opportunity. She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience. This is the perfect opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills, as she’s launching her new movie Jennifer’s Body.”

We hear Megan is already prepping by shooting a digital short with cast member Andy Samberg in Los Angeles. We can’t wait to see it! It’ll be interesting to see if Megan can pull off being funny! It’s no easy task!

Jennifer's Body comes out in theaters on September 18th, and the premiere of Saturday Night Live is September 26th!

Taylor Swift can check one more dream of hers off her list. She’ll be playing on Saturday Night Live this coming weekend, January 10th! Taylor’s so psyched about performing that she took to her Myspace blog to let her fans know.

"Something I've been dreaming about and hoping for and wishing for years... I just found out that I get to play on Saturday Night Live. It's my mom's birthday, and I don't think either of us would've believed you if you would've told us a few years ago that we'd get to spend her birthday in New York City — at Saturday Night Live! Wow. It's pretty unreal."

Taylor also got her fans up to speed on her upcoming summer tour, saying, "I'm so, so, so excited for it to all come together. Yesterday, my stage designer brought over a model he made of the stage [and] I've worked up most of the musical arrangements and transitions between songs. I can't wait for you to see this show."

Taylor is having quite the last couple of months! That breakup with Joe Jonas hasn’t slowed her down a bit. If anything, it’s helped her career! Her song is at week number 4 at the top of the charts, even beating out Britney Spears. We think this is just the beginning of Taylor’s long career.

Don’t forget to catch her performance on this week’s Saturday Night Live on January 10th. And if you needed an even bigger reason, Neil Patrick Harris is hosting!

It's safe to say that Justin Timberlake has a sense of humor. Over the weekend he appeared on SNL in a funny skit wearing a leotard and heels. Yup, you heard correctly JT was showing off his sexy legs in a leotard. SNL has ben rocking these past few months, watch the clip of JT below!

Tim McGraw will be hosting Saturday Night Live this month on November 22nd.

His spokesperson Jesse Schmidt confirmed the news today. Tim’s one of only a few country stars who have ever hosted the show, including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Dolly Parton.

Tune in in two weeks, and catch Paul Rudd this coming Saturday with musical guest Beyonce!
Even SNL is getting on the band wagon, making fun of how ridiculous The View has been lately.

We’re sure today and tomorrow will be equally as tense on set with the election happening tomorrow! Kristin Wiig is amazing as Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Is there any impersonation that woman can’t do?!
