Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin just announced she will be resigning as Governor of Alaska later this month. She made a speech today from the backyard of her home in Wasilla, Alaska.

Sarah said, "It hurts to make this choice but I'm doing what's best for Alaska. You can effect change from the outside, and I can too."

Her husband Todd and children Piper, Bristol and Willow were all by her side. Sarah made no mention of her desire to run for Presidency, but there has been a lot of speculation that that will be her next move.

Palin also addressed the fact that her son Trig who is just a year old and has Down syndrome, needs her attention at home more than she has been providing him.

Sarah went on to say, "We know we can effect positive change outside government. I know the time when its time to pass the ball for victory. Trust me with this decision."

Another possibility for Sarah other than a run for the White House is her running for Senate. One of Alaska’s two Senate seats will be available in 2010.

Check out her resignation speech below.

At this point, her decision leaves me confused and wondering what this decision is really all about. When she was running for a more busy and prominent position as the Vice President of the United States. This would have meant more time away from family and it is not as if she just had her latest child who was born with special needs. Was it all a joke? If so, not a joke that brings any smiles to my face. The problem that has her resigning as Govenor were there when the run for Vice President of the U.S was on and as I say "poppin". What is really going on in this world is the question I wish I could find an answer (s) to. Bisa

Not a fan of hers, but she has taken a lot of criticism regarding her family. Was she just an easy target or just didn't have thick enough skin?

Uh, oh, blame it on Letterman. (OK, I hope Dave has a field day running jokes on this, especially after how misconstrued the entire joke went. He didn't say anything wrong)

I think she is great! She would really bring personality to the White House or Senate. Good luck to her.
