It’s official. Sarah Palin has her own reality show. From the same network that once brought us Jon & Kate Plus 8 is now bringing us more of the former governor of Alaska.
According to The New York Times, TLC has picked up Palin’s eight-part documentary "about the remarkable Governor Palin and her home state of Alaska.” The network is reportedly trying not to refer to it as a reality show, but rather a “travelogue.”
The series, entitled Sarah Palin’s Alaska, promises to "reveal Alaska's powerful beauty as it has never been filmed.”
We hear every network Sarah and producer Mark Burnett pitched the idea to other networks but everyone declined—except for TLC. And they’re backing their decision. A spokesperson says, “TLC is about strong characters and compelling narratives, and there is absolutely no intention of making a political program whatsoever.”
Peter Liguori, Chief Operating Officer, added, “Discovery Communications is so excited to help Sarah Palin tell the story of Alaska, and to have a great documentary filmmaker in Mark Burnett helping to reveal Alaska's powerful beauty as it has never been filmed, and as told by one of the state's proudest daughters.”
