Charlize Theron announced her new mom news today, and she joins the ranks of a handful of other celebrities who have adopted.

Some call it charitable, some call it a trend, but one thing’s for sure: adoption gives tons of kids a new life, home and family. Angelina Jolie might be the queen of Hollywood adoptions, but she’s just one of many who have made the decision. Here are a few Hollywood leading ladies who have opted to adopt.

Charlize Theron: Charlize’s rep announced: “She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.” No other details have been released about the adoption yet, but we can’t wait to see photos of Jackson Theron.

Angelina Jolie: Angelina has six kids: three are hers, and three are adopted. Maddox was adopted from Cambodia, Pax from Vietnam, and Zahara from Ethiopia.

We can only imagine the rush a star must feel when walking on stage to accept an Academy Award. You cry, you thank everyone you know, you give a speech that will go down in Hollywood history…

Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson: Because of Whoopi Goldberg's penchant for wearing crocs and t-shirts that are about 100 sizes too large for her, I sometimes can't remember what team she plays for, but she likes men and one of her most bizarre boyfriends was when she dated Ted Danson in the early 1990's. Whoopi was actually the "other woman" because Danson was married when they met on the set of "Made in America." People were saying "whoops" when Whoopi caused Danson to divorce his wife.

Ryan Gosling and Sandra Bullock: Before Sandra Bullock was making headlines for maybe dating Ryan Reynolds several months ago, people don't remember that she dated Ryan Gosling back in 2001. Gosling was 22 and Bullock was 38 when they started dating after they met on the set of "Murder By Numbers." Sandra's friend Hugh Grant thought their pairing was so random that he referred to 16-years-younger Ryan Gosling as "The Child" and would make a sound of a baby crying whenever he came around. Obviously Cougar-Cub relationships have come and gone, but Ryan HOT Gosling and Sandra Bullock, is this not weird to anyone else?!

And then he crushed a beer can on his head and went out “shootin’ fer varmins.”

Jesse James has been in the spotlight ever since his five-year marriage to Sandra Bullock came to a highly-publicized end in 2010. After Bullock won the Academy Award that year, it was exposed that James had cheated on her with tattoo model Michelle “Bombshell” McGee.

And somehow, through all of that, Jesse is the one complaining about the marriage. Speaking on the TV show American Chopper: The Build Off, James said: "I became a big shot and married some Hollywood actress and didn't talk to anybody anymore, so I feel bad."
