What a good new mommy Salma Hayek is! She's a spokesperson for the Pampers-UNICEF cause dedicated to helping mothers and their children who are in need. She's also bringing awareness to help stop the spread of life-threatening maternal and neonatal tetatus.

Salma says, "In our own small way, this is an opportunity for moms like me here in the U.S. to help other mothers on a global level. I'm honored to work with Pampers and UNICEF to help raise awareness of this important program."

She recently traveled to the West African nation of Sierra Leone, where she met with victims of tetanus. Salma says of her experience, "One of the things that was very moving about the trip was to see 15-year-old girls, really young, taking responsibility for their lives and their children before they're born by saying 'I am going to be healthy, I am going to take this vaccination. I had no idea how much this was going to really personally move me."

Pampers, owned by Procter & Gamble Co., said it would give UNICEF the money for one tetanus vaccine for every pack of specially marked diapers it sells before the end of the year. It expects that to produce 70 million more vaccinations. Nice work, Salma!
