Biography
Salma Hayek was born in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico on September 2, 1966. She is the daughter of opera singer and talent scout Diana Jimenez and oil company executive Sami Hayek. She dropped out of the Universidad in Mexico City to pursue an acting career. At the age of 23, she made a success in Mexico as she landed the title role in Teresa. In 1991, she moved to Los Angeles to study acting under Stella Adler. She then landed a starring role opposite Antonio Banderas in Desperado. Besides acting, Hayek is an executive producer for the hit TV sitcom Ugly Betty.

Hayek is also an Avon spokesperson. She supported the Violence Against Women Act by testifying before the U.S. Senate Committee. She donated $25,000 to a Coatzacoalcos, Mexico woman shelter and another $50,000 to anti- domestic violence groups in Monterrey. She is also part of the Aldo campaign to fight against AIDS.

Hayek has a daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, with fiancée Francois-Henri Pinault.

Women are waiting longer and longer to have children these days but Salma Hayek wasn’t about to wait too long.

The 45-year-old Oscar-nominated Mexican-American beauty says that before she met the man of her dreams, she considered adopting a child.

Lively stars in the latest Oliver Stone movie, Savages, and the first trailer for the flick has just been released.

Salma Hayek is living the good life. She’s married to fashion tycoon Francois-Henri Pinault and has been enjoying being mom to four year-old daughter Valentia Paloma.

Hollyscoop caught up with Salma at the Puss in Boots Los Angeles movie premiere to get her advice on how to keep a relationship going:

“Oh my god,” Salma gushed to us. “Love each other.”

Hayek lends her vocal talents to the upcoming flick Puss In Boots, alongside Antonio Banderas. She showed up to the premiere of the movie with her daughter, who wanted to bring their dog.

Salma Hayek has been off the radar, presumably enjoying motherhood and her role as wife of French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault. But that doesn’t mean Salma has given up her independence.

"I work hard, I make my own living and I love it," Salma told the November issue of Redbook. "I like having financial independence."

Linda Evangelista is asking for $46,000 a month in child support because she doesn't have time to watch her kid as "On days when I do not work, I am working on my image," she claims.

Linda's 4 year-old son Augustin was fathered by Francois-Henri Pinault, who is now married with children to Salma Hayek.

Since the child's birth, Francois has not financially paid any support for Augustin, which sort of explains why she is asking for nearly 50 grand a month.

It doesn't get much more glamorous than the Cannes Film Festival. And the stars are already strolling into the French Riviera, preparing for the 64th annual screenings.

Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas, who both star in the Shrek prequel Puss in Boots have already taken over the red carpet for the big premiere. Robert De Niro will serve as President of the Jury this year.

Salma Hayek was at a press conference for her upcoming flick, "Grown Ups" with co-stars Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph when a large snake decided to join them.

Salma completely freaked out when she saw the snake. We didn't know whether to laugh or to feel bad for her when she was climbing on top of Maya Rudolph's head with her high heels.

Before the snake incident, the ladies were promoting their flick which is about five good friends and former teammates who reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend after their high school basketball coach passes away.
