Ryan Seacrest Gets Bad Reviews As Emmy Host

Ryan Seacrest was the host of the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards that aired live last night and let’s just say he didn't get the best of reviews.

The ratings were the second lowest ever coming in at 13.1 million viewers.

I didn’t actually watch the show so I can’t judge on his hosting abilities. Did you guys think Ryan sucked?

I'm sure Ryan isn't getting too bent out of shape about his horrible ratings, he has 100 other jobs to fall back on.

I agree that ryan is not an entertainer he is just a host trying to do his job but after a while he gets pretty annoying though, i mean i love him and all but you just cant watch tv anymore without hearing his name.

the Emmys are always boring. i didnt watch it so i cant say anything about Ryan Seacrest but i like him on American Idol

Ryan did a great job. He is the new Dick Clark. Making an event out of one of the most self-serving awards shows is no easy feet. Just look at the winners. Many shows that the public did not want including "30 Rock." Being in the biz, I do enjoy the shows. I think the production values were good and it was 1000 times better than the VMAs. If you want to talk about a supposedly hip awards show by comparison, Ryan Rocked and MTV flopped.

The whole show sucked, and Ryan wasn't the problem!!! The problem came from the show being boring!!!

What happened to Justin Timberlake and the guy from Saturday Night Live performing "Dick In A Box"???

And wouldn't the show be better if the Emmy's had several music nomination catagories, including video nominations, and tv concert specials, to use as an excuse to book popular music acts to perform on the show and thus boost ratings and put some real energy into the show???

I didn't watch the show because I figured it would be boring... and with Seacrest hosting, boring and awkward. Sounds like I didn't miss much. The VMA's, on the other hand, those were interesting!

I thought Ryan did a fine job of hosting. It's the show itself that's boring. Best way to watch it is to Tivo it and start watching late so you can fast forward through most of it and just see what you want to see.

RYAN IS a host and i think thats what he did, hes not a comic, so what did people expect, i thought the show went smoothly and quickly which is great, but was boring cause ryan is not funny. So i blame the shows execs because they got a host to do a comedians job.

I have never liked Ryan Seacrest and it seems like whoever is in charge out there is trying to make him the next Dick Clark. He's not smooth or suave and he does seem to try waaay too hard. I was way mroe entertained by the presenters, especially Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert calling up Steve Carrell to mock accept Ricky Gervais' award...brilliant.

I thought he was great! I actually watched the Emmys for the first time last night. I usually don't because it's a boring show year after year. People want performances and entertainment, not Tony Bennet.

I thought Ryan did a perfectly good job hosting the Emmys...He's not a comedian, he isn't an entertainer, he's a host! Ryan didn't try to be anything other than what he is in any of his other jobs. I applaud him for being himself and keeping it simple. He was entertaining enough and let the awards provide the punch. Nice job Ryan!

I didn't think he was that bad! In fact, I thought he'd get GOOD review because we didn't even see all that much of him. Alot of comedians had alot of time on the mic. Even so, I thought it fine! Fact is, the Emmys are themselves just never all that interesting. People want to watch who like winning stuff, not the most 'worthy', like that cowboy/western crap or Tony Bennett or whatever...that's why it's kind of boring IMHO..
