Ryan Reynolds really wowed Twentieth Century Fox bosses with his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, and now he’s getting his own spin-off! Just add it to the list of comic movies inpre-production!
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is still number one at the box office, and movie execs think they need to build on the particular storyline of Deadpool.
A sequel to Wolverine is already in the works, as well as two other related movies, called Magneto and X-Men: First Class.
Deadpool is Wade Wilson, a mercenary who, dying of cancer, submits himself to the Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and emerges as an indestructible semi-sane anti-hero.
Ryan says of his character, “I think he’s the most interesting, unusual, comic book character ever invented. He’s a guy that knows he’s in a comic book, which I think is hilarious. So he’s incredibly acerbic and has a real dark wit to him and I love that.”
Sounds like we’ll have X-Men movies for years to come! And we can’t complain about seeing more of Ryan Reynolds.
