Ryan Reynolds To Run NYC Marathon

Newlywed Ryan Reynolds is running the New York City marathon this November. He told the Huffington Post that his inspiration for running came years ago when he was just a spectator at the race.

He says, “I saw guys coming in to finish with bleeding nipples. Why in the hell were their nipples bleeding? People were crying. People were limping, hobbling, screaming, crawling… I breathed in deeply and decided something: I’d never f—ing do that ever, ever. What in the f— were these idiots thinking? Bleeding nipples. Bleeding. Nipples.”

Doesn’t sound like much of an inspiration to us! But something must have changed, because he’s participating next month. He’s part of Team Fox, a group that supports Michael J. Fox’s foundation to fight Parkinson’s Disease.

Ryan’s father Jim has been battling the disease for the last 15 years. He says, “I’m running in The ING NYC Marathon as a member of Team Fox because I support the Foundation’s urgent mission and I believe that together we can improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and put an end to this disease.”

We’ll be rooting him on!
