SNL’s season 38 premiered this weekend with “Family Guy” brainchild Seth MacFarlane acting as host. Among his many impressions and sketches, his greatest sketch was an impersonation of America’s sweetheart and favorite dimwitted Olympic hero Ryan Lochte.
Seth MacFarlane as Ryan Lochte tells the SNL audience, “I was America at Olympics” and goes on to describe his favorite new fall TV shows, calling the new show “Animal Practice” - Monkey Hospital, and the show “Go On” as Goon.
Anyways, Lochte is a little miffed at the comparison, telling Hollyscoop, “It was pretty harsh but I gotta say it’s flattering, in the same breath, to have Seth parody me on SNL.”
“I think he pegged me wrong, but it’s all in fun and of course if I’m talked about on SNL I know they are gonna get me ‘Go-od,” says Lochte lampooning Seth’s joke about Ryan not knowing how to pronounce “good.”
Lochte also used the moment as a bid to get himself on SNL as a host.
“I think SNL needs to give me a shot next!” says Lochte, “I give Seth 2 swims!”
Oh god, that was basically the official statement that we’re going to have to sit through 90 minutes of Lochte struggling to read the teleprompter as the SNL host.
