Roger Ebert Slams Ryan Dunn for Drinking and Driving

Friends, family and fans were all saddened by the news of Jackass star Ryan Dunn’s tragic death on Monday morning.

Mere hours before the wreck, Dunn posted a Twitter photo of he and two friends drinking at a bar about an hour away in Township, Pennsylvania. This prompted many to believe the actor was intoxicated behind the wheel, although the bar manager insists Dunn had a modest amount to drink. Film critic Rober Ebert quickly tweeted about the incident:

“Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.”

Despite claims like this, sources say Dunn had three Miller Lites and three “girly shots” at the bar—Barnaby’s. An employee told MTV News:

“He was himself. He seemed like he was having a good time, hanging out with friends.” A bar patron added that he was “not too drunk to drive”, while a different patron says Dunn was “wasted”.

Police have only said that speed may be a factor that contributed to Dunn’s ultimately death. A Pennsylvania radio station also reported that the stretch of highway Dunn was driving down is notoriously badly-lit.

Dunn’s pre-crash photo was taken down from his Twitter site. Police have not commented on what Ryan was doing prior to the accident.
