Ryan Alexander Jenkins, who was accused of killing his model wife Jasmine Fiore, has been found dead in an apparent suicide inside a motel in Hope, Canada today, police confirm.
Jenkins was found hanging inside his room at the Thunderbird Motel, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.
"Unfortunately this case has an end that nobody would wish for," said district attorney spokeswoman Farrah Emami.
When asked if anyone else will be charged for the murder of Jasmine Fiore, Emami said, "Based on the evidence, we believe [Jenkins] was solely responsible."
Buena Park police will continue to investigate to see if anybody assisted Jenkins after the murder, she added.
"At this present time the investigation into the circumstances of his death is continuing, but preliminary evidence suggests he took his own life," RCMP Sgt. Duncan Pound, spokesman for the RCMP’s federal border integrity program said during a press conference held in Surrey today.
When asked how long Jenkins had been dead when police found him, Pound added, "Any further details will not be released at this time as this investigation remains in its infancy."
Jenkins was charged with the murder of Jasmine Fiore on August 20th after her mutilated body was found stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in a dumpster in Buena Park, CA. on August 15th.
Although her teeth and fingernails were removed, police identified her body with the serial number on her breast implants.
Jenkins fled to Canada after he reported Jasmine missing, but it's still unclear whether or not he had help while he was hiding out. More details coming soon...
