For most of us, the awards and trophies we've earned in our lifetimes are boxed up somewhere in our mom's attic. Because let's face it, nobody cares about your 1995 Little League All Stars Softball win. But when one of your trophies is an Oscar--well, that's another story.

For actors and actresses, taking home an Oscar is the biggest milestone of their career, and probably one of the most epic events of their lifetime. So of course, they want to keep that token of their memory—the beloved Oscar statue—in a safe place. A safe place where also everyone can see it. Usually that's on a mantle in their home.

But that doesn't go for everyone. Here are some of our favorite Oscar winners and the bizarre places they keep their Oscars.
To make your way from the Hollywood D-list to it's esteemed A-list, you have to be selective in your career choices. Some celebs are good at it, others aren't so good, and yet others just get lucky. Some don't really need another career boost, but might be kicking themselves, anyway, after passing on something epic.

So why do celebs pass on these epic roles? Sometimes it's scheduling conflicts. Sometimes they're just too busy. And sometimes, a story about a ghost stalking his ex-girlfriend just sounds silly. Either way, there are plenty of stars who missed out on legendary gigs because they didn't make it work. Here are ten celebrities that passed up big movie roles. Check out our comparisons below...

Molly Ringwald: Molly Ringwald could've made it past the eighties if she would've said yes to the lead role in Pretty Woman or Ghost. What was she waiting for? You don’t get any more interesting than movies about hookers and ghosts. She was also offered a part in Scream but turned it down because she was in her late twenties and didn’t want a teenage role. Can you imagine her replacing Julia Roberts?

Beware everybody, Russell Crowe is angry again! We all know what happens when Russell gets angry. Ok, he's not really angry, but he does have a lot of opinions and he's sharing them on Twitter.

Crowe launched a rant on Twitter branding circumcision "barbaric and stupid". Now we know his two sons aren’t circumcised.

"Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect. (sic)

Russell Crowe has been known in the past for his temper, and it reared its ugly head yesterday during a press interview at Cannes Film Festival, where his new movie Robin Hood debuted.

According to the Telegraph, Crowe stormed out of an interview with BBC Radio reporter Mark Lawson, who critiqued the actor’s accent in the film. The character of Robin Hood is British, which required Crowe to tweak his New Zealand/Australian accent (Crowe was born a Kiwi, and raised an Aussie).

But Lawson didn’t think the Oscar winner did the best job at it! He reportedly told Crowe that he came off sounding Irish in the movie, which really set him off. "You've got dead ears, mate -- seriously dead ears if you think there's an Irish accent,” Crowe retorted.

Lawson kept going, and asked if the actor was going for a Northern Irish accent, to which Crowe replied, "No I was going for an Italian ... missed it? F--k me."

The nail in the coffin was when the reporter asked about an incident in which Crowe reportedly didn’t want to say the film Gladiator’s defining line, "I'll take my revenge in this life or the next."

He walked out of the interview saying, "I don't get the Irish thing. I don't get it at all."

Apparently Lawson isn’t alone in thinking the accent is all wrong. The film is in theaters now so you tell us what you think!
Director Ridley Scott’s new movie Robin Hood is headed to Cannes Film Festival. The film has been chosen to open the entire event which begins on May 12th. It will not compete for any prizes during the festival however.

But that will give the movie a lot of press right before it opens in theaters on May 14th. Cannes delegate general Thierry Fremaux told Variety, “From Wednesday at Cannes through Friday in the States, the film goes worldwide. I like that. Everybody can have their own opening night.”

The film stars Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, who took over for Sienna Miller to play the leading lady. Check out the trailer below!

The first trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming film Robin Hood has just been released, starring Russell Crowe as the legendary outlaw. The story follows an archer (Crowe) in the service of King Richard the Lionheart who eventually became known as Robin Hood, the famous archer and outlaw of English Folklore.

Beginning after the Death of King Richard at the Siege of Chalus Chabrol, the film follows Robin on his rise to infamy among the English Barons and the newly crowned King John.

The film also stars Cate Blanchett as Maid Marion, and Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey. The movie hits theaters May 14, 2010.Check out the trailer below! Now we know why the director, who also did Gladiator, picked Russell!

We’ve just learned Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks were involved in a car accident.

The two were in Pennsylvania shooting the movie The Next Three Days and were doing a scene that required them to be in a van.

According to ET, Russell and Elizabeth were in the parked van when a firetruck hit them! The truck was reportedly pulling out of the Deutschtown Fire Station Wednesday afternoon when it hit the front end of the van.

Luckily nobody was hurt in the collision. Crowe and Banks both emerged from the van unscathed. A worker at a local bar said everyone was laughing about it, and that Crowe waved back at her when she waved at him.

Greiner said one firefighter called the incident rather embarrassing. We can imagine those trucks are pretty hard to maneuver!
Russell Crowe is homeless. And by homeless we don't mean his house went into foreclosure, we mean he's having a hard time finding a new mansion to rent.

Crowe is currently in West Wales filming Robin Hood and is having a really a hard time finding property to rent to wealthy tourists keep outbidding him.

Local real estate agent Nigel Jones said: "A lot of the rental houses are summer or holiday lets and they're already reserved. It may be difficult for someone like Russell Crowe to find a suitable house.

"The area is very popular and few properties priced at the £1.5 million mark will be up for rent. Often, sellers are not looking to rent. They want someone to buy their house."

Crowe has been forced to stay on the film set, where he has three trailers (of course), until he finds property to rent. What's wrong with staying in a hotel? He seems like too much of a diva to live in a trailer anyway.

Ok, people might actually go see this movie again! Last September Hollyscoop first reported that Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller had both signed on to play the lead roles in Nottingham, an adaptation of Robin Hood.

Russell Crowe is still on board to play both roles of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Sienna has since dropped out of the role of Maid Marion because of “scheduling conflicts,” but we hear the truth of the matter was that the producers ended up thinking Sienna was too skinny and youthful for the part.

The role had been empty the last couple of months because shooting was postponed, but as of today, Cate Blanchett is confirmed to be taking on the role.

That casting choice certainly takes the movie up one more notch! And we’re not the only ones happy with this change.

Nottingham cast member Mark Strong who plays Guy of Gisborne, said, "She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it."

Shooting is expected to resume soon. We’ll still have to wait a while on the movie though, which doesn’t come out til 2010.

Some of Australia’s biggest stars have banded together to help victims in their home country who are victim to the massive bushfires that have left many homeless.

Russell Crowe, Shane Warne, Rove McManus, Kate Ritchie, Megan Gale and glamour couple Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom all united to raise much-needed funds for a telethon last night, raising more than $20 million.

Many stars couldn’t make it back in time for the telethon, like Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Hugh Jackman, Rachel Griffiths, Naomi Watts, Anthony LaPaglia and Simon Baker. But they all pre-recorded messages of support that played throughout the night.

Kidman and Urban had even offered to fly to Melbourne from their home in Tennessee to be part of last night's event.

The event was called Australia Unites, and was aimed at raising as much funds as possible to give to the families who are victims of the country’s worst bushfire disaster ever. It’s already claimed the lives of almost 200 people, and left over 1000 without homes.

Channel 9 in Australia was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by celebrities, saying, "We have been overwhelmed at Channel 9 by the generosity of people wanting to donate money, goods and services to assist Victoria's bushfire victims.

We are humbled by all that and only hope that Australia Unites provides not only some tangible assistance to those in need but also some comfort to those who are grieving by demonstrating solidarity and good old Australian mateship."

It’s so great to see all of these stars stop right in their tracks to pay attention to an important cause. It proves their loyalty to their countrymen over their careers, which is an amazing thing to witness.
