Russell Brand pulled a double Chris Brown and decided to steal someone's cell phone and then throw it through a window in New Orleans.
At this rate, I'm surprised he didn't rip off his shirt and go running down Bourbon St.
Russell turned himself in to New Orleans police this afternoon, according to TMZ. A warrant was issued for his arrest stemming from the incident.
Russell got pissed off on Monday night, after a paparazzo began taking his picture on an iPhone. Brand allegedly took the phone and then hurled it through the window of a law office.
But, interestingly, the act wasn't actually a crime. It was a tribute to Steve Jobs.
“Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory,” Brand said of the incident.
INMATE: Aggravated assault. I cut a guy's face in Central City. You?
RUSSELL BRAND: I like Steve Jobs.
The photographer got his phone back, and Russell agreed to pay for the window, but that wasn't enough for cops and prosecutors, so they issued a warrant for his arrest.
Last month, Chris Brown was accused of stealing a girls' cell phone as she was trying to snap his photo.
According to the report, Christal Spann claimed Brown grabbed her phone form her and said “bitch you ain't going to put that on no website.”
Police said: “We have not charged Mr. Brown with anything. This is an open investigation, and I cannot comment any further at the this time.”
