Russell Brand got pissed off and threw a stranger's iPhone through a window, something he's calling a "tribute" to Steve Jobs.
Maybe just wear a black turtleneck next time.
New Orleans police have issued a misdemeanor arrest warrant for Russell Brand, who's in the Big Easy filming a movie.
Brand is accused of grabbing a photographer's phone on Monday and throwing it right through the window of a law firm in downtown New Orleans. TMZ reports that the incident has led to an arrest warrant being issued on Wednesday.
Brand responded to the incident on Twitter earlier this week, writing: "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory."
So I guess if it was an Android, he'd have left it alone?
Brand has reportedly offered to pay for the broken window at the law firm. The paparazzo, Timothy Jackson, filed the police report right after the incident, claiming "criminal damages." Jackson was posted up along with a series of other photographers, waiting to take a picture of Brand.
Brand has been in New Orleans filming for Diablo Cody's new untitled film. TMZ contacted a rep of the production, and they refused to comment on the warrant.
The story is reminiscent of Chris Brown's incident last month, when he was accused of "robbery by sudden snatching in Miami Beach. Christal Spann claimed that Brown reached through his car window, grabbed her phone and drove off.
