‘Rules of Engagement’ is set to return this Thursday, and if you haven’t gotten a chance to check it out, it’s a must-see.
The sitcom focuses on the different phases of male/female relationships, as perceived by an engaged couple, a married couple, a single guy, and his office assistant.
The hilarious Adhir Kalyan plays the office assistant to David Spade, who’s a prowling womanizer on the show. And quite possibly in real life, but that's a different story.
“His life is genuinely a misery on a day to day basis,” Adhir says of his character, Timmy. “He's forced into trauma week-in and week-out to get David Spade's character out of awkward situations. Why he stays, I don't know.”
While Adhir wonders why his character doesn’t quit his job, he himself is thankful for his role on Rules of Engagement.
“Even though now I have been on the show for several seasons, I live in day to day fear that one of the big stars on the show is going to point to me and say, 'uh, he's fired, he's got to go',” Adhir reveals.
“So I tend to keep myself in check and pretty good behavior for the most part.”
So what are Adhir’s own ‘Rules of Engagement?’
“Never leave a fellow wedding crasher behind,” he says. “Always have an up-to-date family tree and always draw attention to yourself at a wedding, but in a good way. Not in a negative way, you want it to be on your own terms.”
