Rosie vs. American Idol

We all know Rosie O’Donnell has issues with keeping her mouth shut, which usually results in a lot of enemies and a whole lotta drama. Rosie blasted ‘American Idol’ on Tuesday’s episode of “The View” claiming that Idol is racist and weightiest because of the way they handled the Antonella Barba situation.

Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer of "American Idol" and a new enemy to Rosie O’Donnell, has just released a statement in response to Rosie’s comments.

"Without wishing to add to the obvious self-promotion of Ms. O'Donnell, I feel as though I must refute her absurd and ridiculous claims that 'American Idol' is racist and/or weightist.”

"Ms. O'Donnell has, once again, spoken without thought or knowledge. Viewers need only look at the show tonight to realize that 'American Idol' constantly confirms to America that talent has nothing to do with weight or color."

Because of Rosie’s big mouth, "Idol" has banned "The View" from using clips from the show.

also..in the case from a few years back, the girl shot those pictures for a porn website, so she obviously knew that people would be viewing them..and the girl now had her pictures privately taken for her boyfriend, and they were accidentally released, or put out for spite..to me i think that's a bit different.....

I love Rosie! She's never afraid to speak her mind. Antonella should have been kicked off a long time ago, she cannot sing at all! This is a singing competition, she only remains on the show because of her marketablility. It seems as though the show enjoys controversy of all sorts. The controversy provides great material for the video submission contest Pringles is having, create and upload your own original Jingle for Pringles! Rosie speaks the truth! Of course Idol is weightist - that's why Simon makes all those nasty weight remarks during the auditions! And PS - Frenchie told the producers about the pictures BEFORE she even went in to audition and then they booted her off AFTER she made it to Hollywood. They're a bunch of hypocrites. I stopped watching Idol because of Frenchie being kicked off and I'd NEVER watch it again!

Rosie is so freaking annoying. She thinks that just becuase shes on the view everyone wants to hear her opinion on everything-shes so totally off base. American Idol is anything but racist, just look at the previous winners! And weightist? God, come on. As someone said earlier Rueben Studdard won and look at some of the girls who are in the competition now! They're getting much better reviews than the skinny girls. Rosie just likes the hear herself talk.

I wish this woman would mind her own business for once in her life. Every single time SHE gets offended by something she feels the need to attack someone else. Sounds like some insecurity issues to me but over what, I just don't know :) It's funny how the loudest voices for free speech such as her are the first ones to run and tell someone else to shut up if they disagree w/what was said. Hypocrisy!

First off, Rosie is on a show called the "view". It is her job to open her big mouth and that's exactly why they hired her. Secondly, there is a double standard for fat chicks and hot chicks and it's not just on that show!!

There may be a double standard but why does she constantly have to open her mouth about EVERYTHING that offends her? She has NO positivity about anything. THAT is the point. The double standard has existed long before Rosie. The fact is that she feels the need to crow exhaustively about matters that don't concern her annoying behind like Trump/Miss America and this. This is why shows like The View annoy me. All it is is gossip and annoying opinions. I can't believe people watch it, really.
