Rock The Cradle

Britney made a surprise visit to the set of "Rock the Cradle" last night for its season finale. She was reportedly there to show support her former manager Larry Rudolph.

After the show, Rudolph told Us Weekly, "She was here to support the show. I mentioned to her that I was going to my show. She said, ‘I want to come down.’ She loved it. She really loved it. She didn't come here for publicity or anything like that. She came here because she wanted to see the show, which I appreciated."

Can another Britney cameo be in the works? She definitely shines on the small screen.
MTV started Rock the Cradle with snazzy commercials and lotsa publicity, but in the past week they have suddenly decided to put the show's end on super rush. Was it due to poor ratings? Possibly, but the double eliminations has dwindled the contestants so fast I barely know what's going on anymore.

Let's analyze.....last week Crosby got the highest scores of the season and won the safe seat, but by doing so has automatically gotten a hot seat into the finale. With two rockers being eliminated last night and two next week, that leaves one standing to catch the prize. Yeah I forgot what the prize is too, but I recall there being something about a record deal. Now is it fair that Crosby who has had shaky performances early on in the competition, is being fast tracked to the finale from one night's high scores?? Not really. And the other rocker spawns have expressed that gripe on last nights program. But ehh, MTV doesn't seem to care, they just want to finish this darn thing.

That leaves us with the four other singers, one of whom we know is going home without a doubt. Lara gave a mighty performance with a voice full of emotion way beyond her lil' doe eyed self. But poor thing, she is as clueless about fashion as Tai from Clueless.....yep we really went there. She is in dire need of a clothes stylist....STAT.

In regards to this competition, she is done and out. Which gave a very surprising turn of events, Chloe was announced to be safe! Big surprise considering Lucy gave an amazing performance last week featuring her range and skills on the piano. That means Chloe has some fans out there!! Good news. The bad news is she didn't perform as strong as her contenders last night. With the announcement of being assigned 'Toxic' by Britney Spears (the judges got to assign each of the singers two songs) many fans were delighted and looking forward to her doing something pop- with a Chloe twist. But she dreaded the thought of being in the same category of a pop candy singer, tears and all, and she took all the joy of seeing her perform the song. She did a very good job but still you knew she was being forced and didn't enjoy it at all. Word of advice to Chloe, its important for an artist to be true to themselves and not 'sell out' but a successful musician must be willing to step outside the box and try different things. You never know what you might learn and gain from the experience.

All in all, it ultimately cost her the competition. Her performances were missing that special something. Bottom line Jesse wins it next week. He embraced the songs given to him and rocked it with everything he had in him. And it was quite a ride! He's open and not afraid to try new things and paid off big time in the end. Tune in next week and let's see Jesse win that record deal....and maybe he'll do a couple more back flips and take off his shirt just for his fans!
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
The King has been de-throned!! The stars must not have aligned right for the rock stars offsring in last night's Rock the Cradle.

Jesse gave a less than desirable performance in a weird Elvis like outfit - to the dismay of wardrobe specialist/ panel judge June. He got the lowest scores of any of his performances. And to make matters worse, his frenemy Crosby got near perfect scores for his electric guitar ridden performance.

He echoed John Mayer a bit and the judges loved it so much they gave him the highest scores of any contestant to date. He is sitting high on his safe chair for the week, although the judges have a point when they mention he is still holding back a bit from connecting to the audience. At times he comes off a bit cold and sterile which isn't good when it comes to connecting with fans, but his talent supersedes all that anyway.

Lucy came back from the bottom with a performance that would make Norah Jones and Alicia Keys proud. She sang her lil' heart out on the piano and showed her true musician skills. It paid off in the end and our bet is she will be back on top next week.

And Lara bless her soul, she is like the school nerd with no cool skills or style for that matter, but damn does she have a voice. She may not make next week's elimination but with a bit of maturity she will find her own(MTV seems to be cutting this show short by making double eliminations--wassup MTV?? Do you not have enough reality shows like Tila and silly dating games to allow a music show its full run?? I remember back in da' day MTV was all about the music!!)

Chloe got the fans buzzin' with Freak on a Leash by Korn, by far not her best performance vocally or otherwise but she can do no wrong she still the US version of Bjork. She definitely has our vote! Sadly she got very low scores but good ol' Larry (remember his comment last week about Pop Porn) well the perv is loving him some Chloe! She has such dark emotion and those Angelina lips! Yeah so what if they are cosmetically enhanced, little nip/tuck never hurt nobody (when done in limited doses that is).

Looks like the voters got it right by sending the bruthas home who both gave shit-eous performances last week, Langdon and Lil' B. Keep ya head up boys, love the journey of it!!
Whoa what a show indeed! Full steam ahead as the cradle has picked up an enormous amount of speed since last week's intense elimination. It came down to Jesse or Chloe and Chloe was saved by the skin of her teeth. Jesse Money was understandably disappointed and stormed out the show--without saying goodbye and not without trashing her dressing room in a fit of anger! Just like a real diva--or spoiled baby...you decide who's still in the cradle. The emotional Chloe thought for sure she was going home after receiving an awful round of scores, but instead was chosen to stay and sing. And did she ever sing! She gave an emo--worthy performance full of the type of teen angst we all know too well.

All this week, MTV has taken real world route by broadcasting the fights and comments being made by the singers- about one another! Pretty boy---you know the one who does back flips--is riding high after getting the safe seat (highest scores) twice in a row. He gave a great performance complete with a guitar breaking diss meant for Crosby. Crosby wasn't going to take it lying down either, he gave his own worthy performance full of hype and energy. He's definitely a fan fave! These two have a friendly competition to each other and ironically both gave homage to each other by performing a bit like one another.

Chloe rode to second place by making one of her mom's (Olivia Newton John) sweet ballads into her own. Larry Rudolph (former manager of Britney Spears) called it pop porn. Yeah-- we have no idea either- but we like the sound of pop porn too! She's the US version of Bjork, so watch out for her album to drop after this whole show ends. On the negative side of things, Akeiba got the boot with the least amount of votes in favor. Perhaps that "40 year old" wardrobe had something to do with it. Or it's possible being the only plus size singer didn't warrant much votes from "visually appealing" point of view.

A shame either way, both her and Jesse Money had the best voices and so much potential. Landon and Lil B on the other hand, gave the most cringe worthy performances to date. Vocals were way off and painful to bear. Next week is double elimination and these two are in danger of taking their last bow.
First up was Jesse Money (Eddie Money’s daughter) who was great, great, great. She literally opened the show with a bang. Strong voice and lots of room to grow. We shall see if she holds up next round.

Lucy Walsh is the daughter of Joe Walsh from the Eagles. She did a great job, not the strongest among the first uppers, but "surprise" she got the highest scores. She will have immunity for the next round. Her intro speech was full of a lot of thought and truth. She touched on the difficulty and unavailability of coming from a rock star parent. The underlying theme among most the competitors is that they didn't have their "rock" parent at home much or apart of their life growing up. They were either on tour or on drugs, or both. On a positive note they have reconnected with them and gotten closer later in life (after they've rehabbed and grown up.)

Next up is Chloe Rose Lattanzi, the one with Angelina Jolie lips, has a voice of an angel. She's the spawn of Olivia Newton-John. She is kind of quirky and a bit unusual. Best part is she has a mouth on her, literally and figuratively, and is not scared to use it! We see lots of star quality in her!

Landon Brown, Bobby Brown's son, is determined to make his own path and stay out of jail! His voice was a bit shaky but best believe he has tricks up his sleeve to put him on top.
