If teen paranormal romance is your thing and you find yourself sobbing into a cardboard cutout of Edward Cullen now that The Twilight Saga is over, then we’ve got just the thing for you.
I’m talking about the upcoming film The Host, which is the only book outside the Twilight trilogy that author Stephenie Meyer ever wrote. That novel is getting a big screen adaptation in the hopes that people will go nuts for it like they do for Twilight.
The Host is set in the future where aliens have inhabited the bodies of almost everyone on Earth, except for a few.
Earthling Jared (Max Irons) finds another rare human Melanie (Saoirse Ronan) and they fall in love, because well, they are basically the only humans left on earth, so they kind of have a small dating pool.
Then Melanie is caught and her body is taken over by an alien but her will to live is so strong that her consciousness lives on inside of the alien body!
So Melanie convinces her host body to let her find Jared and hopes that she and the alien can love him again.
Ok, if you can believe that a 100-year-old Vampire would MARRY an 18-year-old high-school girl then you can believe that alien abduction would happen and that aliens can fall in love, OK!
Watch the trailer here, it’s really good.
