Believe it or not, but Robert Pattinson does something other than play a vampire. Usually, the heartthrob uses his free time to make super indie features that nobody sees (I will high-five the first person to admit they saw the flick or even watched the trailer for Bel Ami or Little Ashes).
Now R-Patz is finally doing some films that might get the Twihards out to the theaters.
Pattinson is starring in the new David Cronenberg directed indie flick Cosmopolis and while they dropped the teaser several months ago, they’ve just unveiled the first full-length trailer.
Even with this longer clip, I still have no idea what this movie is about, other than the majority of the flick takes place in a taxi, Pattinson is a billionaire, it's set in the future, and Occupy Wall Street is somehow involved.
After some intense Google searching, here’s what I’ve gathered the film is about.
Cosmopolis takes place in a futuristic New York in turmoil from the decline of capitalism. Pattinson plays a young billionaire tycoon who can't deal with the pressures and people around him.
The flick screened at the Cannes Film Festival and is getting mixed reviews. Or as Pattinson said, “David [The director] told me, ‘this movie is gonna get a lot of boos,’ so I’m sitting there in the theater winding myself up for a fight for an hour and a half.”
Judge for yourself, the flick opens in theaters in the U.S. on August 17, 2012.
Check out the trailer, Robert Pattinson is a total badass and gets seminude. Eat your hearts out Twihards.
