The stars and wolves came out for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 on Monday night. Wait, what? Wolves?
Yes, the official Los Angeles Twilight after party following the premiere on Monday night included a cage filled with three actual wolves!
A source told Hollyscoop that "there was a freestanding cage outside the entrance to the party, one trainer with the wolves, and a chain surrounding the cage so party goers kept their distance."
That being said…should actual wolves be used as party décor?
PETA doesn’t think so!
“Didn't it dawn on the Twilight event organizers that real wolves do not belong at a party with blaring music and flashing lights?” PETA tells us.
Apparently the wolves “were provided by Hollywood Animals, a notorious exhibitor that has been cited for numerous violations of the Animal Welfare Act for repeatedly failing to provide the animals it exploits with basic veterinary care, proper shelter, food, and water.”
PETA found out about the wolf exhibition during the party, “We got calls, emails and photos from people at the party.”
You would think such a high-profile film event would avoid doing anything to piss anyone off?
“We hope the rest of the promotional events surrounding Breaking Dawn celebrates the brilliant work of the cast and crew and shows enough respect for wildlife to leave animals out of it,” says PETA.
