Rihanna's Family: She Needs to Move On From Chris Brown

Members of Rihanna's family are so upset about her recent altercation with boyfriend Chris Brown, they're hoping she'll not only take this time to heal physically, but also move on emotionally.

Chris issued a public apology last week, but it's simply not enough.

Rihanna is already back home in her native Barbados and her family members are now speaking out about the couple's low-key relationship.

Chris "flew so far under everyone's radar that we just didn't think he was that [abusive] type," a relative told People magazine.

"He was always looking after her needs," says the relative, "making sure she was happy."

As far as her father, Ronald Fenty, is concerned, when it comes to Brown, his daughter should "move on." A relative agrees: "I don't want her to go back to him. I don't think anyone does."

Considering how violent the alleged attack was, everyone will be shocked if Rihanna gives Chris another chance. We'd love to see her take some time off, try to heal, and make a triumphant return to the spotlight doing what she does best--rocking the stage.
