Rihanna Talks Abuse With Oprah: I Was Hurt The Most
RiRi is turning some heads lately and it’s not because of a new tattoo, or a racy Twitter picture…

The hip-hop singer is opening up on a brand new episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” In the extended sit down interview, Rihanna talks about the hush-hush topic of Chris Brown’s physically abusive outburst on her, including what she was going through at the time, and how it has affected her today.

To capture the exclusive, the queen of daytime talk traveled to Rihanna’s home in Barbados for a one-on-one.

“It happened to me in front of the world,” the singer tells Oprah, beginning to tear up. “It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. It was hurtful. You know, it’s not easy.”

During the height of their relationship in 2009, the public’s perception of Chris Brown seemed to change overnight when photos of a battered Rihanna hit the Internet.

Rihanna agreed with Oprah when she compared the singer’s abusive relationship with Brown to a battered woman holding back from telling close relatives about what’s really going on. She feared that, once news broke, it would forever stick with the public’s image of Chris.

However, despite the public’s sense of betrayal surrounding the incident, the 24-year-old Bajan reminded Oprah that - underneath all the press - she was suffering the most.

“I was hurt the most,” says Rihanna. “Nobody felt what I felt.”

Despite the somber clip of the interview, photos from the day reveal at least a few smiles from the singer. Though she may still be recovering from her wounds, underneath the tears Rihanna seems to radiate a sense of hope as she sits in the sea breeze in her floral pattern summer dress.

Rihanna’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview airs this Sunday, August 19 at 9ET/PT on the OWN network.
