Now that’s the Rihanna we know and love.
Coming off her reserved and sophisticated new look at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, the “We Found Love” singer is reminding us that her shenanigans are far from over. RiRi has unleashed a photo of a brand new tattoo of Goddess Isis underneath her boobs.
She posted an Instagram photo of the new ink on Sunday. According to the picture’s caption on Twitter, the tattoo is in honor of her grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Brathwaite … Because nothing says “I love you, granny” like a sweaty picture on the crease of your boobs.

The tattoo is a black inked image, spanning the entirety of the Rihanna’s ribcage. A nude woman in a headband stretches her massive wingspan as she gazes majestically at Ri’s left nipple.
Quick Egyptian religious history lesson…
Isis was known as the goddess who was seen as the perfect mother and wife, hence Rihanna’s connection to Dolly. She is often portrayed – as the rapper correctly demonstrated on her chest – in a squatting position, with her wings extended.
Grandma Dolly passed away in June after losing a fight with cancer. Rihanna attended her memorial in the Barbados the following month.
Until her death, the matriarch was a very important part of the artist’s life, both personally and professionally. Now, with the new tattoo, she’s a permanent fixture moving forward too.
