Assuming you have anything to hide about your personal life or your films, you should stay far far away from Ricky Gervais. While Ricky was pretty tame for most of the evening, he basically outted Foster as a lesbian.
During a monologue he read a list of things he was told not to do, including he couldn’t say anything about Mel Gibson especially not talk about his recent movie “The Beaver” which was directed by Jodie Foster.
First of all, what kind of closeted lesbian directs a movie called “The Beaver” and then tries to look surprised when people call her out on it?
Okay, moving on. So Gervais jokes “I’m not supposed to mention Jodie Foster’s beaver. I haven’t seen it myself. I’ve spoken to a lot of guys here, they haven’t seen it either. That doesn’t mean it’s not any good.”
Whaaattt? Okay, full disclosure, I thought he was talking about the movie still and I was like, lol, nobody saw that movie! And then I was like, why is everyone laughing so hard? And then I was like, oh he’s talking about her other beaver. Got it!
Meanwhile, Jodie seemed to be a good sport. She thumbed-up in the crowd and winked at Gervais while her two underage sons sat behind her in the audience and laughed and pretended to know what he was talking about. What’s a beaver? Mom’s got a what? Who is my dad? I dunno.
