Everyone has gotten their panties in a bunch over the jokes that Ricky Gervais made during the Golden Globes. I thought they were hilarious, but the organizers of the Globes are livid.
They claim his jokes were “unacceptable” but asking a comedian to host and not expecting him to cross the line is sort of unrealistic.
Philip Berk, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who was also the topic of some of Ricky’s jokes, was not impressed.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "He definitely crossed the line. And some of the things were totally unacceptable. Any of the references to individuals is certainly not something the Hollywood Foreign Press condones.”
Uptight celebrities who clearly can’t take a joke have apparently told their agent to call the HFPA and complain about Ricky, but Philip insists he had no idea how far he would be going.
He said: “I had absolutely no idea what Ricky was going to say so anything I heard was heard the same time you heard it. When you hire Ricky Gervais you expect the unexpected.”
Everyone is hating but what they are failing to realize is that Ricky just said what's on everyones mind and I appreciate him for that!
