Don't worry, she's okay. Because Los Angeles drivers are crazy, Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car while driving in Santa Monica, California.
According to Santa Monica police, Witherspoon "suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment."
Reese was hit by an 84 year-old woman. So you can't even be mad at the driver because it's a little old lady. She most likely thinks it's 1974 and was on her way to take her "kids to the zoo".
Reese was running across an unmarked crosswalk around 11 a.m. on Wednesday when the woman didn't slow down and hit her. The woman was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. And not just any pedestrian, a celebrity pedestrian.
Witherspoon's rep says she wasn't seriously injured and has been "resting comfortably at home." She was released from the hospital relatively quickly.
The old lady was only driving 20 mph because it was in an intersection. But really, she probably drives 20 on the freeway, too.
The good news is Witherspoon will be just fine. And when she recovers, she can get right back to work. She recently became the face of Lindex, a European fashion label. According to E!, the brand's marketing director says Witherspoon was picked because she's "positive, warm and full of energy."
Witherspoon is also featured in the October issue of Marie Claire, in which she discusses her marriage to Jim Toth. The couple married in March, and Reese says it's been a huge relief.
"I was hard on myself when I got divorced. And until I got remarried, I don't think I realized how stressed I was," Reese says, referring to her 2006 divorce from Ryan Phillippe. "I don't think I recognized how anxious I was about being a single parent. ... Now I feel a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband. I got very lucky, and he's wonderful. And so wonderful with my children. I'm very blessed."
We watched Reese grow up on the silver screen, and she was only 23 when she first married. So how's she enjoying being in her thirties?
"I always had a lot of confidence when I was younger, and then I think I got a little nervous in my 20s," she says. "But now I feel better. Now I'm in my 30s, totally better. A little more confident again. Not as scared."
We wish Witherspoon a quick recovery!
