Rebel Wilson. biography
Rebel Elizabeth Wilson was born on February 3, 1986, in Sydney, Australia and ignited her future-career in the spotlight on the first season of The Amazing Race Australia before discovering her comedic side.
Rebel further flourished the humorous gift while attending the Australian Theatre for Young People and later training with Second City in New York City. Rebel eventually garnished Hollywood’s attention for her comedic chops when she landed her first on-screen role in Fat Pizza (2003).
Rebel began establishing a platform for her acting career with supporting roles in a string of TV shows, including Pizza (2003-07), The Wedge (2006-07) and Bogan Pride (2008). A couple of years later in 2011, Rebel got her big break alongside Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph in Bridesmaids - a performance that secured her spot as an up-and-coming comedic powerhouse.
The young comedian’s popularity continued to climb in 2012, after appearing in What to Expect When You’re Expecting and assuming the role of Fat Amy in the musical dramedy Pitch Perfect.
Rebel’s most recent projects include, hosting the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, the action comedy Pain & Gain (2013), the TV series Super Fun Night (2013) and the animated flick Kung Fu Panda 3 (2015).
