Real Housewives of New York City City star Bethenny Frankel is known for her sass and quick–witted comments. And being a professional chef, she knows a thing or two about good eating habits. That’s why Bethenny decided to write a book about being and staying naturally thin based on the food you intake.
The book, called Naturally Thin, has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for two weeks now, and explains the techniques she uses to maintain a tiny frame without having to starve.
Bethenny talked to TV Guide about her theories on weight loss in Hollywood, which she says are unrealistic. She says, "You have these pages in magazines that talk about what a model or actress ate that says 'grilled salmon and steamed vegetables.’ But that was one day of their life, and people think they have to live up to that."
She goes on to say, "The title is a pun. Paris Hilton is not naturally thin. She eats half a cheeseburger and French fries and walks away because it's not that important."
Bethenny says the key to losing weight is to not obsess over every little thing. She says, "If you want a Krispy Kreme donut, have it. It's not like it's a great investment, but it's what you do next. Have a salad rather than beating yourself up. It becomes a new dialogue. It's so stupid it's smart. It's not like I'm inventing fire; it's just new ways to think about things."
She also talks about how the Hollywood standard isn’t what people should aim for. She says, "A lot of Hollywood has an obsession with [being thin] and people that seem like they're healthy and normal all fall into it. But at the same time, I think people are smart enough to know someone would rather sleep with a Rihanna or Beyonce rather some skin-and-bones model. Only dogs like bones."
We’ll definitely take Bethenny’s dieting advice any day of the week! Her body is bangin! Pick up a copy of Naturally Thin on the shelves now!
