‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Russell Armstrong was found dead this morning in his Mulholland Drive home. He reportedly committed suicide.
Russell, who is the estranged husband of RHOBH star Taylor Armstrong was found hanging in his bedroom. He didn’t leave a suicide note. He was 47 years old.
According to TMZ, L.A. City Fire Department arrived at his home and announced him dead at 8:16PM on Monday. So tragic!
Taylor filed for divorce from Russell just one month ago claiming he physically and verbally abused her. When she first filed for divorce he confessed she was "a child of domestic violence" on "Real Housewives", has said that "one of my earliest childhood experiences was abuse.”
Just last year, Armstrong said of her eight-year marriage, "It's a work in progress. "We're doing the best we can and really focusing on our family."
Taylor told People.com, her arguments with her husband often got physical -- with Russell grabbing her, shoving her, and pulling her hair.
But their relationship problems weren’t the only thing they were dealing with. In July MyMedicalRecords.com sued Taylor and Russell in the amount of $1.5 million for a breach of contract.
The company accuses the couple of pocketing more than $1 million from people who were mislead into thinking they were investing in the company.
Russell Armstrong's attorney denies the reports, saying: "My client has done nothing wrong and this complaint is a desperate attempt by a company whose stock is trading at four cents. These types of penalty lawsuits amount to nothing but legal blackmail."
Russell also has had two separate restraining orders filed against by him, one by his ex-wife, and one by an ex-girlfriend. In addition, Armstrong has a criminal record, having pled guilty to battery in 1997. He married Barbara Armstrong in 1997 and shortly after she gave birth to their son Aiden she claims he shoved her to the floor and slapped her across her face. "The police were called to Russell’s and my residence during our marriage because Russell hit me, blackened my eyes, kicked me in the back, threw crystal drinking glasses at me, and spit on me," she wrote in the police report.
On August 6, 2004, Barbara claims in her declaration that she was called by Russell’s then-girlfriend, Claudia Haro, who told her she “Saw Russell slap Aiden across the face, very hard. This slap was so hard that Ms. Haro heard it across the room. Ms. Haro has seen and heard Russell slap Aiden’s face very hard on other occasions.”
It’s just so tragic that he doesn’t face dealing with his problems and instead decided to take his own life.
