The will-he, won’t-he game is over…
After weeks of speculation and even reports that Randy Jackson would not be returning to FOX’s “American Idol” judges panel, we can finally report that the man who cried “DAWG” will officially be back on the show.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Randy will return in full for Season 12.
According to the entertainment news site, Jackson has finalized a deal with FOX as of Monday night. The network already had an option to bring the judge back from a previous contract, so renewing him was relatively pain-free.
Adding Randy means that Enrique Iglesias is more or less officially out. Sources say that the decision to cut talks with the Latin love machine was financially related.
Simon Cowell, who is gearing up for the re-launch of his new show “The X Factor” this week, tweeted to his followers about the decision to bring Randy back. According to the king of the V-neck, it was the “right decision.”

The news follows reports that Randy would be returning to the show, but in a smaller, guest appearance-style role as a mentor to some of the contestants.
With Jackson adding to the expensive addition of Mariah Carey, FOX is expected to reveal their complete new four-person panel later this week, as the network works to finalize contracts with both Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj.
More importantly, now that all the singing competition shows – “Idol,” “X Factor” and “The Voice” – have four people panels it will be even more difficult to tell them apart while flipping through channels for something better to watch.
