Report: Rachel McAdams to Play Villain in Spider-Man 4

Now that Spider Man 4 is finally a go, the studio can focus on casting! And rumor has Rachel McAdams may be joining the cast! According to film junkie website mania.com, director Sam Raimi is pulling for Rachel McAdams to play one of the villains in the film.

Insiders says Rachel is a top contender for the role of Felicia Hardy, also known as the black cat. In the story, Spider-Man first encounters the Black Cat when she’s looking to free her sick father from prison. She becomes smitten with Spidey, to the point of a stalker-level obsession. Later stories had Peter reciprocating her affection and her becoming a lover, a friend and ally.

Sources also say they are casting for a male villain, but had few details. Website heyuguys.co.uk reports today that Rachel isn’t the only actress who has been seen for the part. No word on who is in talks for the role. Details to come!
