Jessica Seinfeld (yes, Jerry's wife) is getting sued by a woman for plagiarism because she says "Deceptively Delicious" is a rip-off of her own 2007 cookbook, "The Sneaky Chef."
Missy Chace Lepine claims that Jessica's recipes "brazenly plagiarize" her own, and she accuses Jerry Seinfeld of launching a "malicious, premeditated, and knowingly false and defamatory attack" on her after media reports noted similarities between the two books.
Seinfeld went on Letterman and compared Lapine to the kind of wackos that had once stalked Letterman, adding that Lapine was a "three-name woman."
Seinfeld joked, "If you read history, many of the three-name people do become assassins." Wow! Talk about stirring the pot!
So here's the deal with these books--they both are vehicles to trick your kids into eating healthy food by making vegetable purees and hiding them in everyday meals. Example? Carrot puree applesauce muffins. Or butternut squash
breaded chicken. Yicky.
Why are these two getting their panties in a bunch over puree? I think I'll stick to Rachel Ray.
