This is a huge disappointment for Project Runway fans like ourselves. The 6th season of the show is being postponed until January so they have more time to promote it. We don't get the logic, but the execs think the move from Bravo to Lifetime will affect viewership.
A spokesperson says, "With this move, the series will resume its traditional cycle of two seasons per year. We look forward to ringing in the New Year by giving Project Runway loyal fans a superlative season six with Heidi, Tim, Nina, and Michael. The new date and time will be announced soon."
Sources close to the production staff say the real reason for the delay is because they couldn't get the production up and running fast enough for a Fall premiere. The show lost their executive producers with the move to Lifetime, and the show is now produced by Bunim-Murray. Hopefully the couple extra months will be enough time to produce a fabulous 6th season!
