Why Prince William Might Miss the Royal Birth

The unthinkable might happen. Prince William may not be in the delivery room when his wife Kate Middleton gives birth because apparently his duties as a RAF Search and Rescue pilot don’t get paternity leave!

Don’t they know that the future Prince or Princess is on the way!

Now, apparently, the usually calm and collected Duchess is losing her cool.

“Kate’s worried he might not be around. She’s feeling self-conscious because it’s uncharted territory for both of them,” a source close to the Duchess told Now magazine.

So, apparently William is scheduled to work up until Kate goes into labor, but the thing about Search and Rescue piloting is that sometimes rescuing is more important than awaiting newborn babies and if he gets a distress call, he needs to be ready in 15 minutes.

Basically, it’s going to be super on-the-fly, “Between now and then he is on and off shift and every attempt will be made to get him there.”

Since Kate is ready to pop any week now, we’ll find out soon enough if dear old dad was waiting in the wings with a cigar, or piloting a helicopter around the UK.
