The Royal obsession continues! We have deets on where Prince William popped the question, and the location may surprise you!
A log cabin! Not exactly what I’d call “fit for a king.”
Talk about doing it old school! According to the reports, William proposed October 20 at Kenya's stark Rutundu Log Cabins near Lake Rutundu on Africa's second highest peak.
So how’d they decide on this place? It’s apparently owned by William's friend Ian Craig, whose daughter Jecca is also close to the prince.
Catherine wrote in the guest book, "Thank you for such a wonderful 24 hours! Sadly no fish to be found but we had great fun trying. I love the warm fires and candle lights -- so romantic! Hope to be back again soon" Kate wrote before signing, "Catherine Middleton."
Wow, no electricity either? Damn, this must be true love!
William added to the book, "Such fun to be back! Brought more clothes this time! Looked after so well. Thanks you guys! Look forward to next time, soon I hope."
The Sun has their own take on how exactly the proposal occurred. A source says,
“It is thought he popped the question on the cabin's verandah, then went to the 'fridge' - an outdoor wooden cupboard - to fetch a celebration bottle of bubbly he brought in the chopper.
The happy couple then enjoyed a meal put together by Rutundu staff from food they also brought. ... Later they snuggled up in a four-poster bed - roughly hewn from local trees - with the silence in the wilderness outside broken only by the sounds of crickets and frogs.”
Sounds like Kenya is the new place to be! I’ll just be getting my fishing spears and hiking boots together…if a princess can rough it, then so can I!
