Prince William couldn’t be more excited to be a dad.
The Duke of Cambridge graced a charity polo match with his presence in the U.K. over the weekend, marking his first public appearance—solo or otherwise—since he and Kate Middleton stepped out of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital following the birth of their son Prince George Alexander Louis.
Barely able to contain his enthusiasm, he even gave the press a few comments about fatherhood.
“[Prince George] likes to move around a lot,” he said. “He wriggles a lot. He keeps us on our toes.
At the match on Saturday, William was in a jolly mood; he scored the winning goal for his team, but his mind was still elsewhere, on the baby.
“[I was] in baby mode out there,” he said, “ thinking about nappies. I wasn’t really in the zone.”
