You Won't See Prince Harry In Iraq

Prince Harry

After all the hype of Prince Harry going to Iraq, news has come that he in fact will not be serving in the Middle East.

The reason as to why he wont be going is not only because of the prince’s safety but the fact that he would be a target for insurgents.

General Sir Richard Dannatt, said in a statement, "There have been a number of specific threats, some reported, and some not reported, which relate directly to Prince Harry as an individual. These threats place not only him but also those around him a degree of risk that I now deem unacceptable."

He added, "I know Prince Harry will be extremely disappointed and his soldiers will miss his presence in Iraq."

I support the war and our friends in Britain but this is sooo stupid and hypocritical on their part. All it does is help those idiots like Sharpton that believe only nieve, poor kids are sent to war. In the past, it was an honor for royalty, Brit's included to lead battles and it actually made them the legends they were (see Rome). Society really is in a downward spiral I can't understand...

You are an idiot- you support the war in iraq?? if you know anything about historical policy, especially in Europe, you would not have to audacity to compare the war in Iraq to something more "honorable". The war in Iraq is the biggest exception in history so far (besides vietnam and korean war) for being just causes for war. I think by the Queen not allowing her grandson to deploy is a major step in the right direction in showing the United States that things are going to change. Unline the UNited States, a nobility still exists (overtly) and it should be no surprised that Harry would not deploy. Its true he would be only endangering her platoon and jeopordizing the mission bc terrorists would inevitably target him. It's pretty bold of you to make such statements when you no nothing of politics and make such a bold statement. With Tony Blair's resignation, mark my words, the war in Iraq is going to follow inherent changes. Britain already has timetables withdrawals, something that we have yet to establish. Britain may not be so much "for the war" as one might ignorantly assume.
