Going against his wife's wishes Governor Eliot Spitzer has resigned.
If y'all don't remember, the married governor was hooking up with prostitutes while in office and reportedly spent up to $80,000 on the hookers. His wife stood by his side during his resignation and she was actually the one who was telling him not to resign. Weird no?
He said, "I am deeply sorry I did not live up to what was expected of me...While I feel we have much more to do, I will not allow my personal problems to get in the way." He apologized to his family and friend during his resignation which will become effective on March 14.
Lt. Governor David Paterson is set to take Spitzer's position.
