Governor Spitzer Resigns

Going against his wife's wishes Governor Eliot Spitzer has resigned. If y'all don't remember, the married governor was hooking up with prostitutes while in office and reportedly spent up to $80,000 on the hookers. His wife stood by his side during his resignation and she was actually the one who was telling him not to resign. Weird no?

He said, "I am deeply sorry I did not live up to what was expected of me...While I feel we have much more to do, I will not allow my personal problems to get in the way." He apologized to his family and friend during his resignation which will become effective on March 14.

Lt. Governor David Paterson is set to take Spitzer's position.

He made a lot of enemies here in New York with his heavy handed self-righteous governing. You cannot do that unless you're ass is squeaky clean. They finally got something on him. What a fool. He broke the law and he has to pay just like the rest of suckers would have to. He, as a former attorney general, should have known that. His arrogance got the better of him. Last but not least, he publicly humiliated his wife and adolescent children, who by the way aren't much younger than the hookers he had.

Saw a newcast this morning where they were questioning the "cruelty" of having a wife stand up by a man having done this. Seems like rubbing salt in a wound. Why should she have to shoulder the embarrassement at this time? Like the reporter said - It's the hooker - and only the hooker - that needs to be by his side!
