Pirates Of The Caribbean

The annual People's Choice Awards nominations have been announced, and leading the pack is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The flick garnered nominations in the categories of Movie, Action Movie, Ensemble Movie Cast and Book Adaptation. Daniel Radcliffe is nominated for Movie Actor, and Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Tom Felton are all nominated for the same category: Movie Star Under 25. People love their Harry Potter.

Daniel Radcliffe is up against Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson and Ryan Reynolds. I'm not sure what it says about our society that a pirate, a wizard and a vampire are nominated for best actor. But it definitely says something.

Radliffe recently admitted he cried about the Harry Potter franchise coming to an end.

"You've got to have a heart of stone to not find part of it - especially Alan Rickman's performance – heartbreaking. I've done my fair share of crying already."
Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 just opened in the U.S., and it’s already a blockbuster.

The movie opened in ten countries on Wednesday, and in those ten countries, On Stranger Tides already raked in $18.5 million. By Friday, the movie has debuted in seventy different countries, bringing its grand international total to $25.7 million...

Megan Fox is not crying over the fact that she is no longer attached to the Transformers franchise.

She has her eyes set on another big franchise. Rumor has it that Fox is very close to inking a deal to star in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie with Johnny Depp.

Victoria's Secret Model Replaces Megan Fox

“Megan is mulling over a number of big movie offers including another sci fi franchise and a role in the next Pirates of the Caribbean,” a source said. “She would play a mermaid who charms Captain Jack but she has a dark motive...Megan has always loved Johnny and is desperate to work with him."

Megan Fox is beautiful but what has she done besides Transformers? That's really the only big movie she has ever done so Pirates would be a great career move for her.
Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom may have left Pirates of the Caribbean for good, but that just leaves room for a sexy newcomer. Sources say Penelope Cruz is in talks to join Johnny Depp and the cast for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

According tothe Hollywood Reporter, the film will be shot in Hawaii this summer and released in May of 2011, which is when Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible IV was just scheduled for release.

Penelope's alleged role in the film is being kept under wraps, as is the entire plot of the film. Insider say, however, that the movie will follow Capt. Jack’s quest for the Fountain of Youth.

We're surprised Orlando and Keira would leave at this stage of the game, especially with Johnny Depp still attached! Perhaps Peneleope got in because of director Rob Marshall, who also directed her in Nine.
James Cameron’s Avatar is officially more successful than James Cameron’s Titanic—at least when it comes to North America. The Oscar-nominated sci-fi hit beat out Titanic this week, reaching $601.1 million, which just beats out $600.8 million held by Titanic.

It also beat out the previously held $1.84 billion worldwide sales, making $2 billion at the box office. Cameron's producing partner Jon Landau said in a statement, "When some said to us, 'How is it going to feel to knock off 'Titanic'? I think our response was, 'It's about time those guys got knocked off their perch.’”

"Lightning is not supposed to strike twice. And it has. And it's a pinch-me moment when you sit there and you hear that we're going to break another record. It's beyond anything that we could have imagined," he said.

Disney is going to have to find themselves a new swashbuckler! We’d heard the rumors before, but now it’s confirmed that Orlando Bloom will not be returning as Will Turner for Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

During the Sundance Film Festival, Orlando talked with MTV News. When they asked if was going to be a part of the fourth installment, he replied, “No, definitely not.”

But it’s a movie franchise Bloom will certainly miss. "I had a great time making those movies," he said. "I just really wanted to do different things, but I think it's going to be great. Whatever Johnny does, I think it's fantastic."

Orlando also had great things to say about director Rob Marshall, who is helming the next Pirates. "I think he's an amazing director," Bloom said of Marshall. "I think it will be a very interesting fit, because Johnny is musical anyway and I'm sure that something really beautiful will come out of it."

We don’t blame him for pulling out. Orlando is a great actor and we know he’ll be moving on to bigger and better things!

Johnny Depp will be making bank on the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean movie!

According to the Sun, Depp will receive $30 million to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fourth sequel in the franchise.

When he shoots Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Johnny will become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor. It places Depp ahead of Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson, who get around $26 million a movie.

This sequel will lose a couple of their main characters; both Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom have opted out of starring in the film. But Geoffrey Rush will return to play Captain Barbossa, and we also hear Penelope Cruz may be the female lead.

Also confirmed on the film is Rob Marshall, who confirmed recently that he’ll be directing. He recently said, “Ya know, it’s something that I was offered, and never in the world thought I would do but then I was like ‘why not?’… I’m doing ‘Pirates of the Caribbean….” According to the AICN report, Marshall also mentioned that he had met with Johnny Depp, and that they are both excited to work together.

A source says, “The movie will feature flashbacks to Jack’s early life.” Pirates 4 comes out in theaters Summer 2011.
