Penelope Cruz To Receive Film Award

Penelope Cruz is receiving an honor for he acting ability at this year's Gotham Awards. She'll be awarded IFP's Gotham Award, which honors an actor or actor for their body of work. Funnily enough, last year's recipient was none other than Penelope's boyfriend, Javier Bardem.

The Gotham Awards will take place on December 2nd in NYC and are considered the kick-off point for award season. The Oscars is considered the closing ceremony.

Wonder if Penelope will be up for one of those too? She does have two good films for 2008—Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Elegy.
