Penélope Cruz has an impressive list of films under her belt, but the semi-new mom is planning to cut back on her career.
"Maybe I'll make one movie a year, maybe two, but it's not going to be more than that because I have other priorities now,” Penélope tells the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Penélope wants to spend more time doing mom duty to Leonardo, her one-year-old son with Javier Bardem.
"I talk about him all day long, even to strangers in the street; it is my favorite subject! But, you know; this is my job."
Ugh, she’s one of those moms that actually like to talk about their kids.
Believe it or not, Penélope isn’t perfect (I know, I was surprised, too), and there are quite a few ‘faults’ she struggles with:
“Worrier. I am living for every day and trying to have less fear, less worry. But I have always worried about everything; it’s in my nature. It’s the thing that makes me suffer the most.”
She also says she’s “stubborn.”
“Even my mother would say that as the first word!”
But even Penélope’s faults are admirable. When Harper’s tells her she’s a ‘no-bullsh-t’ gal, Penélope grins and says:
“That is the best compliment you can give me.”
And despite the fact that she plans to cut back on her movies, Penélope still has a deep passion for the craft of acting, listing Meryl Streep as her biggest influence.
When I first started watching movies and I saw Meryl's work, that's when I became obsessed with acting," Penélope says. "Now I kiss her whenever I see her! She must think I'm crazy."
