Paula Abdul Won't Host Star Search

Paula Abdul is certainly keeping us on our toes! Ever since her departure from American Idol, there’s been a ton of speculation about her next move.

We’ve heard rumors of her hosting a show on Oprah’s new network, joining Simon Cowell as a judge on The X Factor, and most recently, that she was hired as the host of the reboot of Star Search.

But alas, none of them are true, including the latter! ABC sources tell EW that Paula isn’t attached “at this time” to the remake of the singing competition, though they are working on bringing it back to air.

Bummer! We were looking forward to seeing Paula carry her own show! But maybe she really is holding out for Simon and The X Factor. She is used to being on a panel, so maybe she’s not ready to take over her own gig. That’s a lot to take on!
