Wendy Williams celebrated her 500th show Wednesday and in honor of being on TV that long, she brought in a top-secret, super powerful, celebrity guest....Oprah! I’m kidding, it’s Paul Abdul. Try-and-pretend-like-its-still-cool!
However, I can’t deny that Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell’s will-they-wont-they sexual tension was the best part of "The X Factor” and I was pretty upset when they traded her out for Britney Spears and Demi whats-her-face.
Simon has publicly stated that Paula “wanted him” or whatever, but Paula finally tells her side of the story. When Wendy asks Paula if she still sees Simon, Paula says, “I’m friends with him. Do we hang out? Did we ever really hang out? According to him, we did a lot of hanging out. But I’ve got to tell you something, it would never ever happen because he’s selfish and he’d be a selfish lover and he’d call his own name out during sex if it ever happened.”
Woah, was that an admission of the truth?
Whatever, Paula’s moved on from whatever she did or didn’t have with Simon. She’s got a hotter younger boyfriend named John Caprio whom she says is a “wonderful man.”
This is also the first time that Paula has gotten real about her unceremonious axing from "The X Factor.”
“Here’s the truth,” says Paula, “You get signed on to a show. The show is entitled to pick up your option or not. They didn’t pick up my option, I look at it as ‘he fired me.’”
That being said. She still loves Simon Cowell, even if he did fire her and is a selfish hypothetical lover.
“Simon and I, we do have a great relationship. Change happens…he had to do what he had to do and that supersedes friendships sometimes and it’s business.”
I’m mostly just impressed that Paula was able to correctly use the word “supersedes.”
But it’s all water under the bridge, because Paula is really looking forward to watching Britney Spears on "The X Factor."
“She’s had a long career and she’s overcome a tremendous amount of adversity. I’m all for the underdog coming back.”
