They may look like they're buds on the show, but behind the scenes troubles-a-brewin’ between
Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi.
This morning Ok! magazine broke a story saying that Paula wasn’t exactly pleased with Kara joining the show this season.
She told the mag, "Kara and I have known each other for years and we get along great. But we tried four judges before and it doesn't work."
Then Paula proceeded to almost diss
American Idol itself, and was almost acting as if she was better than the program. She said, "It is the last season of my contract, and I have so many other things I want to do."
Yikes! Probably not the best thing to say since Idol put her back on the map! The whole reason she has a following anymore is because of the show.
Needless to say, Kara was not pleased with Paula’s comments. She told Access Hollywood, “Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person.”
Paula must have realized she probably shouldn’t have opened her mouth, because her rep just released a statement saying, “Paula’s quote was taken out of context. She was referring to previous ‘guest judges’ from past seasons. Not Kara.”
Nevertheless, Kara’s trying to stay positive, since it’s first season on the show. She says, “I am proud of my contributions to the show, and remain excited about the rest of the season.”
Who knows? Maybe Kara will ultimately be replacing Paula as the female judge on the show since she seems like she wants to leave it so badly!
