But Paula fans will be happy to know her new dance show is already in the works and it sounds very promising! "I so excited about the CBS dance show,” Paula told Hollyscoop at the 62nd annual Emmy Awards on Sunday night.
“I took time off after I left American Idol to kind of reflect on what I want to do. I wanted to get back into producing because that’s how I started,” she added.
Auditions from the new dance competition will be held this fall and according to Paula, contestants of all ages are welcome. "It’s a show that celebrates passionate people that live in their unique ability from 5 to 6 years old to 105 to 106 any style or dance. You can enter as a soloist or group or a duo."
The show is tentatively titled Paula Abdul's Dance Show and is modeled after the British series Got to Dance. “People are going to be amazed to see how dance transforms the human spirit. And when people can come back and have one more shot, it's showing what they’ve loved their whole life…it's amazing to see.”
She admits she's been working around the clock, but she doesn’t seem to mind because she's so inspired. “I’ve been doing amazing long hours...days goes by in a flash because were all working on something that’s so wonderful and passionate.”
We never thought we would ever say this, but we kind of miss Paula and her wacky comments. Check out our exclusive interview with Paula at the 2010 Emmy Awards below...
